DermaV laser

Created by Lutronic, a leading medical laser company, the Derma V utilizes two wavelengths of laser energy to revolutionize skin treatments and cosmetic procedures, offering previously unavailable solutions for many skin problems. DermaV generally provides a more comfortable treatment for multiple skin conditions such as sun damage, redness, enlarged or “broken” blood vessels, scars, port wine stains, and irregular pigmentation.

The Maryland Laser Skin and Vein Institute is one of the first providers in the world to offer the Derma V. This innovative laser can treat melasma, rosacea and even active acne. Compared to previous lasers, it offers reduced treatment times and generally more effective results with less discomfort.

Utilizing two distinctive wavelengths, DermaV is a laser treatment that can efficiently and effectively reduce brown and red skin discolorations. The device is more comfortable than its predecessors because of its unique cooling system.

What can I expect with DermaV?

Treatments can vary from 10 to 40 minutes in length depending on the extent and severity of the problem. Typically, more than one session is required for maximum improvement. Chronic skin conditions such as rosacea, sun damage and aging will need occasional maintenance treatment. Patients compare the procedure to sensations of heat followed by cooling. Most patients feel a slight discomfort but topical numbing cream can be used to minimize any pain. Redness and swelling may last a few days and pigmented areas may temporarily darken. The risk of a blister is extremely low, minimized by the innovative cooling system.
