BTL Aesthetics has released the newest innovation in non-invasive body sculpting: EMSculpt.  While current body sculpting treatments address the fat and skin, EMSculpt improves the tone and shape as well.  This new treatment is designed for both women and men, treating the stomach area, and is the world’s first non-invasive butt lift procedure.

EMSculpt works by using High-Intensity Focused Electro-Magnetic (HIFEM) technology to induce supramaximal muscle contractions.  Signals are sent to the brain that an extreme amount of energy is going to be needed to supply these contractions and the release of epinephrine is increased.  This results in supramaximal lipolysis (a breakdown of fats).  When exposed to supramaximal contractions the muscle tissue is forced to adapt to extreme conditions and response by remodeling the inner muscles.  Supramaximal contractions also cause an enhanced adrenaline release, which triggers an intensive lipolysis response in fat cells.  Due to the supramaximal nature of these contractions, the lipolytic response is so extreme that the free fatty acids start accumulating within the fat cells, leading to cellular dysfunction.

The EMSculpt treatment requires no pre or post-treatment preparation and there is zero downtime after treatment.  Patients begin to feel results right after the treatment with positive results being seen two to four weeks after the last session and continuous improvement over the next few weeks.

The dermatologists at Maryland Dermatology Laser Skin & Vein were pioneers in developing and perfecting this technology over the last 2 years and are the first practice in Maryland to offer EMSculpt.
