What are Frown Lines?
When we frown for any reason, we gather the tissue between our eyebrows into a fold. In some of us, our facial expressions can cause a chronic furrow. Frown lines can get etched into the skin even at an early age. This can produce a worried, discouraged, angry look on our face.
Frown lines are a common sign of aging, but you don’t have to just accept them. There are treatments available that can help improve the appearance of these common signs of aging.
Our office has been treating patients for frown lines for many years. We have the experience and expertise to help you achieve the best possible results.

CAUSES
As we age, skin loses collagen and elastin, which contribute to its elasticity, making it less able to spring back after expressions. This results in the formation of deeper lines and wrinkles in areas of frequent muscle movement.
RISK FACTORS
Risk factors for frown lines include aging, as natural loss of collagen and elastin weakens the skin’s ability to stay smooth. Sun exposure can accelerate skin aging by breaking down collagen and causing wrinkles to form more quickly. Smoking is another major risk factor, as it contributes to collagen breakdown and decreases blood flow to the skin. Genetics also play a role, as some people are more predisposed to developing frown lines based on their facial structure and skin type.
