Meet Dr. Halvorson
Dr. Christian Halvorson is a board-certified dermatologist who completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and attended medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he graduated magna cum laude. In medical school he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received the Eugene Bereston Award for excellence in dermatology. He completed his internship at Mercy Medical Center and three years of dermatology training in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Maryland, where he served as chief resident his final year.
After finishing his residency, Dr. Halvorson completed a cosmetic dermatology fellowship accredited by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. During his fellowship, he received advanced training in the use of neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin, filler injections, laser and energy-based devices for skin rejuvenation, non-invasive body contouring and sclerotherapy. Dr. Halvorson has also authored numerous journal publications and textbook chapters on a variety of topics in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. He has presented at several dermatology conferences and actively participates in clinical studies for new dermatologic therapies.
His interests in dermatology include the evaluation and management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, complex medical dermatology, and evolving uses of laser technology in dermatology. In his free time, he enjoys writing and performing music, learning to play new instruments, and woodworking. He lives with his wife and two children in Howard County.
Dr. Halvorson is currently accepting Medicare patients.
