PicoSure

PicoSure is a 755 nm laser that delivers energy at the incredibly fast speed of a trillionth of a second. PicoSure is FDA approved for the treatment of wrinkles, sunspots, and acne scars and as such is a great option for photorejuvenation. It is similar to Fraxel and other non-ablative resurfacing lasers as it improves freckles, brown spots, fine lines, skin texture, and skin brightness; however, PicoSure is less painful during the treatment and the subsequent “downtime” is reduced. Most patients are red and swollen for less than one day. Brown spots will get darker and peel off, but there is no roughness or dryness of the skin that follows after Fraxel. At MDLSV we are using this laser for resurfacing the face, in addition to the chest, arms, and legs.
